About
With a blank form, the possibilities are endless. You are only constrained by the limits of your imagination. At the core of Tess Nimirowski's work is a celebration of the beauty of the handmade—a handmade garment, a handmade future, a handmade life—and the triumphs, the imperfections, and the joy of expression that are all part of the process.
A graduate of the Parsons The New School for Design Fashion Program, Tess has served as costume designer for numerous dramatic productions, most recently in 2010 as Assistant Costume Designer for a production of Václav Havel’s Leaving at the Wilma Theater in Philadelphia. She also worked as Assistant Costume Designer for a production of Witold Gombrowicz’s Operetta at the La Mama Theater in New York in 2006.
She possesses a literature degree from The New School University, as well as being an Oxford University alumna, that often—albeit abstractly—informs her works. She comes from a long line of seamstresses, crediting her mother and grandmother for inspiring her love of clothing design.
